DAY 2 - Vanilla Experience at Quinta do Alecrim Wednesday, May 21, 2025
Every Saturday, at Altiplano Leste—just 20 minutes from Brasília—Quinta do Alecrim opens its doors for an incredible sensory experience, where the senses of the table—smell, taste, and affection—come together in a unique moment of pleasure, in intimate harmony with the simple and delicate beauty of nature.
Professor Angela, who has been dedicated to the art of Cerrado vanilla production for six years, welcomes visitors with cheese bread and vanilla-infused hot chocolate. In this warm and inviting atmosphere, she gives an overview of vanilla cultivation, from seedling formation to pod processing. She then leads guests on a fascinating tour, showcasing the different methods of growing this rare spice, including the Agroforestry System (SAF) and greenhouse cultivation. Passionate about sharing her knowledge, Professor Angela offers an immersive journey into the world of vanilla.
The highlight of the experience is the Vanilla Café, served at the end of the plantation tour. More than just coffee, visitors are treated to a sophisticated brunch, prepared in the owners’ home kitchen with a homemade and artisanal touch. The aromas and flavors of this exquisite spice elevate every detail of the meal, making it truly unforgettable. A variety of savory and sweet dishes, both hot and cold, are served, concluding with a classic Brazilian coffee, accompanied by dessert and vanilla liqueur.
