Prof. Giorgio de Tomi

Prof. Giorgio de Tomi is a Mining Engineer and Full Professor at POLI-USP, where he heads the USP Centre for Responsible Mining. He holds a MSc degree from Southern Illinois University (USA) and a PhD from Imperial College London (UK). Prof. de Tomi is a Fellow of IOM3 (UK), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) accredited by the Engineering Council (UK), and serves as a Qualified Person (QP) for Mineral Resources and Reserves. He is a board member of CBRR and of EMBRAPII/Tecnogreen at POLI-USP. Currently, he coordinates the National Action Plan for the Minamata Convention, in collaboration with the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).
