Marcelo Ribeiro is a mining engineer and the president of the Belmont Group in Brazil. He represents the third generation of this family corporation, which operates across the mining, construction, real estate, and agricultural sectors. Under his leadership, Belmont Emeralds has become an industry benchmark, recognized for its responsible, state-of-the-art mining operations and as one of the world's leading emerald producers. Mr. Ribeiro serves on the board of directors of IBGM – the Brazilian Gems and Jewellery Trade Association – and has been an active member of the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) for over 15 years. He has also been chosen as the Chairman for the 2025 ICA Congress Brazil.
The Chairman of the ICA Congress 2025 has guided the creation of the Congress schedule. He has also played an integral role in selecting the fantastic Brazilian facilities for this event.
