Director of Geology and Mineral Resources, SGB/CPRM
Francisco Valdir Silveira is the Director of Geology and Mineral Resources at the Geological Survey of Brazil (SGB/CPRM). A geologist from Rio Grande do Norte, he holds a Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. in Geology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. With over 40 years of experience in mineral exploration and basic geology, he has worked both in the private sector and at SGB/CPRM, where he has led major national projects.
Author of two books and more than one hundred scientific articles, he has also delivered lectures and served on academic committees at leading Brazilian universities. His work focuses on generating geoscientific data to foster research, innovation, and new discoveries in geosciences and natural resources.
