He is the President and Co-founder of the Guild Institute of Gemology, as well as the Senior Vice President of Guild Gem Laboratories Shenzhen and President of Guild Gem Laboratories Bangkok.

Lucas spent 28 years at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), where he played a pivotal role in developing educational courses and managing field gemology research. His extensive work in the mine-to-market supply chain has taken him across the globe to collect critical gemological research samples.
