Head of the Center for Gemstone and Lapidary Design

Adriano Mol - Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from REDEMAT/UFOP and Specialist in Gem and Jewelry Design from the Design School/UEMG. A professor since 2005, currently serving as Head of the Center for Gemstone and Lapidary Design at the University of Minas Gerais State since 2018. Finalist for the IF Design Award (Germany, 2021) and recipient of prestigious accolades, including the JDE Jewelry Design Excellence Awards (Hong Kong), the IBGM Jewelry Design Prize (Brazil), and First Place in the HRD Diamond Design Awards (Antwerp, 2003). Developed the Empire CutTM, the first branded cut for a Brazilian gemstone, and has been consulting since 2004 for private companies and institutions such as AngloGold Ashanti, the Brazil Small Business Agency (SEBRAE), and the Brazilian Gems and Jewelry Institute (IBGM). Since 2020, has been leading Brand and Product Development at the Cruzeiro Mine.
