Rita Lahlou is the Senior Jewelry Buyer at Amazon based out of their European headquarters in London.
She heads the branded jewelry team and is responsible for buying and business development of the category for all the Amazon European websites. Over the last four years, she has held diverse managerial roles at Amazon across business development, product management, planning, buying, and strategy on the marketplace and retail businesses in the US and in Europe.
Prior to Amazon, she was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Rocket Internet – a global incubator which invests in online business models in fast-growing markets and, previously, a Brand Manager at Reckitt Benckiser – a multinational consumer goods company.
In addition Rita co-chairs the Harvard Business School Angels of London Screening Committee and is an active early-stage tech investor and advisor. She also serves on several non-profit boards and is involved in philanthropic endeavors improving the lives of women and children via technology and sustainable development.
Her areas of interest outside of jewelry include retail and consumer tech, digital innovation and education. A Moroccan national, Rita is multilingual and has lived in seven countries to date.
Rita earned her BA magna cum laude in international business and economics from Al Akhawayn University in Morocco and Bocconi University in Italy. She also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship.
